Cross Cultural Internship

Go on an international adventure. Immerse yourself in a new culture. Share the Gospel overseas. Make a global impact.

The Word of Life Cross Cultural Internship (CCI) sends college students to mission fields around the world, giving you the opportunity to serve as a missionary while earning a college degree. With Word of Life ministries in more than 67 countries, the world is at your fingertips as a CCI intern!

Not only will you serve overseas, but you’ll also gain incredible cross-cultural ministry training from leading missions experts. We’ll walk with you step-by-step as you build a support team, lead a missions team, navigate culture shock, remove barriers and minister across cultures.

Whatever your future holds, you’ll expand your horizons, gain practical ministry skills, make an eternal impact and earn a degree all at the same time!

Placement & Training

Placement

All CCI interns are placed at a global Word of Life ministry location. You’ll start a regional hub to gain language skills and basic training. Then you’ll be sent to a country fits your country/region of interest and ministry of interest (children’s ministry, teaching, etc.) with the goal of getting hands on training.

Training

Your two years as a CCI intern consist of training, support raising and service on the missions field. After initial training, you’ll spend several months at home raising support before being sent to your hub location for cultural orientation, language training and everything you need to be prepared to serve. Finally, you’ll serve on the missions field, immersing yourself in a new country, culture and community that needs to hear the love of Christ. Your total time overseas is about 22 months.

Start your journey serving overseas training alongside real missionaries. Gain a new vision for the world and change lives for Jesus.

Finances

All CCI interns are required to raise support to fund your time on the missions field. Not only does this cover your expenses while serving, but it also gives others the chance to partner with you in God’s work. You’ll receive training and resources on how to raise support, and we’ll be right here with you each step of the way!

Education

All CCI interns are required to pursue a degree during their internship. We want to send you out prepared with both ministry experience and a college education! We have partnered with Liberty University and Clarks Summit University to offer you discounted tuition – up to 50% off! While we do require that you take online classes during your service assignment, the classes you take and the pace of study is completely up to you.
