My mom was saved when was young and took us to church every Sunday. I accepted the Lord at 7 years old and started coming to the WOL camp around that time. I loved it and attended all the camps—Ranch, Ranger Camp and Island, every year. I knew that I wanted to come to the BI because I wanted to be a counselor but never dreamed of the true benefit and joys of studying God’s Word. I had attended a public high school so coming to the BI to study in a setting with others who loved God and His Word was like heaven. That was the Class of ’79.
I met my husband, Kevin while attending the BI and soon moved to Schroon Lake to work for Word of Life. We have three sons, Ben, Joel and Nick. In 2004 my husband passed away to suicide. It was the most defining moment (next to salvation and dedication) in my life and in my faith. As the years have passed since that terrible day, I can honestly thank God for what He brought me through and how He used it to strengthen my faith beyond my wildest dreams.
I started working at WOL Headquarters in the Executive offices in 2005, and in 2009 I was asked to consider the position of Dean of Women at the BI. God confirmed in my heart that this was something He was preparing me for and I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to work here. This job has filled a longing to minister to and with women, teaching and encouraging them with God’s Word. That’s why I love Him…In His faithfulness He will give us the desires of our hearts if we wait on Him.
