Life Change Camper Fund
Each summer more than 10,000 kids hear the good news of Jesus Christ and are encouraged to grow in their walk with the Lord at Word of Life Camps. This trademark Word of Life ministry touches the lives of young people in eternal ways. Through the financial assistance of friends like you, 1,814 young people received a scholarship to attend last year in New York and Florida!
Life Change Student Fund
More than 20,000 graduates have experienced Word of Life Bible Institute– receiving an incredible, biblical framework for life. Students are immersed in God’s Word every day and then have the opportunity to be involved immediately in a local church ministry, youth camp, community outreach, sports or music team, as well as Open Air Evangelism. Simply put, students learn the Word and live it out! Even though the cost of the Bible Institute is less than half of many colleges, most students are still in need of financial assistance. Of last year’s student body, 92% received assistance!
Bethany Conover- NY Campus First Year Student:
At the beginning of the campus year, I was solely focused on selfish desires for scholastic and athletic achievements. The leadership here is God-focused, and they point everything they do to the Lord. My discipler has made such an influence on my life– she’s helped me to seek after a more intimate relationship with the Lord. For the short amount of time I’ve been able to attend here on campus, the Lord keeps revealing how much work still needs to be done in my life, but I’m thankful that my focus has changed from achievements to deepening my relationship with Him.
Rosemarie Mallon- NY Campus First Year Student:
My favorite thing about camp is that the atmosphere, the counselors, the staff and everyone involved are always doing their best to make sure the campers have a good time, but also include the Gospel in everything they do. The Gospel is always shared the first night of camp and then throughout the rest of the week– and every night is a growing opportunity for those who accepted Christ on the first night, or those who are still on the fence. I was one where I thought I knew what it meant to have a relationship with God, but after seeing how joyful and excited my counselors were, I realized that I didn’t have much heart change. However, after rededicating my life to Christ, my counselors helped guide me to show me how God can use me and my heart started changing and growing. Even while working at the camps, I saw the Holy Spirit working in my heart and changing it. As I’ve continued to volunteer at camps, I’ve been able to take a step back and observe how God uses the little things to change the lives of campers, counselors, staff, and volunteers. It’s an amazing thing to see. God uses everything to bring His children back to Him, and I’ve personally seen Him use Word of Life to do so. Both attending as a camper and working at Word of Life Camps have been a life-changing experience for me!
Manny Willis- FL Campus Student:
When I came to camp, I just wanted to do me. I wanted to show off and be the big man on campus. God had blessed me in abundance… but I had taken all the credit for it. As the weeks moved forward, I learned more about the need to give to others and give back to God. I had great conversations with students, fellow Camp Crew members, and even campers. After week 4, God broke me down and I gave up trying to work with my own strength! My life and plans were flipped, and now I’m attending the Bible Institute– with the desire for God to use me, and for HIM to get the credit in my life.
We’re excited about the amazing students who spend time with us at Word of Life– whether it’s a week at camp or a year at the Bible Institute. Join us as we continue to share the gospel with them. Click the link below to donate to Word of Life’s Life Change Scholarships!
