The Bridge: February 18

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Your student will be heading out on break in just 17 days! During this time, I will be encouraging the student body to stay faithful and focused to the end. Thus far, we have had four weekends of Snowcamp, and our students have been absolutely amazing! We have three more weekends to go, and they are going to need strength from the Lord to press on through mental, emotional, physical, and even spiritual fatigue.

Paul reminds us of what the Lord taught him in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me… For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Join with me in praying that our students will finish this season strong and that God will receive glory for the work He is doing in their lives!

Snowcamp Update
We thought it might be an encouragement for you to hear about the campers that your students have been reaching with the gospel! Below are some statistics from the weekends we’ve had already and upcoming numbers for our last three weekends. We are praising God for the great work He is doing in and through each person who steps foot on campus!

Weekend 1: 90 campers | 3 salvations | 35 dedications

Weekend 2: 157 campers | 13 salvations | 101 dedications

Weekend 3: 197 campers | 9 salvations | 133 dedications

Weekend 4: 338 campers | 36 salvations | 226 dedications

We will have 371 campers, 381 campers, and 360 campers during our last three weekends, respectively—so please be praying for the students! They are fighting through spiritual warfare and fatigue to ensure every camper who steps on property hears the gospel and has an opportunity to respond.

Alternative Halftime Show
This was the third year Word of Life held our own alternative halftime show during the Superbowl. Our goal is to give people and groups the option to watch a clean, God-honoring show, and it presents us with the opportunity to share Jesus with a widespread audience.

During the show, we had music, drawings to win prizes and, most importantly, presented the gospel. After the gospel was presented, we asked whoever was watching to send a text saying “that’s me” to indicate they accepted Christ as their Savior, and we had 31 texts sent to us! Praise the Lord that 31 students or adults came to know Christ through this event!

Missions Trips
Later this spring, every Bible Institute student has the opportunity to go on a missions trip. These trips include both international and domestic options. Internationally, we have trips going to South Africa, Nicaragua, Panama, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Within the US, we have trips going to the Navajo Nation in Arizona and Colorado, Pennsylvania for Ethnos360’s Wayumi program (focused on church planting ministry amongst unreached people groups), and New York City for Open Air Evangelism ministry (OAE).

These trips include training and assignments related to support raising as God’s Word describes it. We would encourage you to share your children’s social media posts, as many of them are nearly done with raising support for their trip!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at any time.
