What should we know about you and your family?
My name is Josh Ely, and I have been married to my wife Julie for 13 years. I have 4 wonderful children: Logan, Moriah, Ava, and Olivia.
Share with us your salvation experience.
I was saved when I was 7 years old. It was a Sunday night at church, and I heard that I was a sinner and that Jesus paid the penalty for my sins. My mom and I prayed that night in my bedroom and I put my full trust in Jesus as my personal savior.
What is your role at the Word of Life Bible Institute?
I have the honor of serving as the Dean of Students here at Word of Life Bible Institute.
Share your favorite memory of WOLBI when you were a student or something recently as you served with our students?
My favorite memories as a student are all Snowcamp related. It’s still my favorite camp, and it was definitely my favorite time of the year. I especially loved the friendships I got to build and deepen during Snowcamp with the guys in my dorm.
Can you tell us your life verse and why?
My life verse is 2 Timothy 2:2. I think it is the best verse that describes what God has put me on the earth to do–I want to make disciple-makers.
Josh, tell us about your experience serving students.
I love serving students because of the passion they have. I love how eager they are to pursue whatever calling they have from Lord. If revival is going to happen in the USA, it will start with students.
If you could speak to a younger you today – what would you say?
What you do today matters. The habits and friendships you build today will help or hurt you in the years to come. Build good habits and choose good friends.
