Reports To: Production Coordinator / Lead Production Technician
Purpose
The Live Production Intern will provide support in the planning, execution, and leadership of special events and student involvement in production. They will collaborate with various areas of Word of Life Ministries to produce professional and engaging events that represent Word of Life with excellence.
Onboarding Logistics
- One- to two-year internship, renewable annually, beginning each September
• Based at Word of Life New York
Qualifications
General
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Agreement with Word of Life’s vision, mission, Statement of Faith, and Standard of Conduct
Live Production–Specific
- Excellent networking and communication skills
• Proficiency in basic office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to both lead and follow directions as needed
• A willingness to learn and grow in ministry responsibilities
• Broad knowledge and experience in event production
• Experience operating audio, visual, media, and lighting equipment
• Creative input in areas such as stage design, media elements, and lighting

Core Responsibilities and Expectations
General
- Attend regular Word of Life staff meetings and New York Staff Devotions
• Connect regularly with the Production Coordinator or Lead Production Technician for planning, updates, and review of projects and events
Live Production–Specific
- Assist with production for conferences throughout the year
• Manage and support production for family camps and outside rental groups
• Assist with touring or traveling productions
• Equip and train students to operate production equipment effectively
• Perform gear maintenance and participate in system upgrades
• Stay up to date with industry trends and recommend technologies that support Word of Life’s mission and strategy
Training Required
- Hands-on training with current Word of Life production equipment, including sound and lighting boards, ProPresenter, etc.
• Weekly attendance at production class
On-Campus Opportunities
- Disciple students one-on-one and/or lead small groups
• Connect with students and campers about cross-cultural ministry opportunities
Works With
- Bible Institute production team (students – unpaid)
• Seasonal production teams (primarily during summer camp)
Other
- Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds on occasion
• May be required to bend, climb, reach, stand, walk, sit, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
• Must be available to travel to select ministry events to ensure quality event production
