Roger Peace – President, Word of Life Bible Institute

Roger is a passionate leader with experience in multiple ministry endeavors. Having been in leadership roles for over 20 years at Word of Life Fellowship, (Missionary Services Coordinator, Vice-President of Ministry Services, C.O.O, and Chief Strategy Officer) and each experience has uniquely prepared him for leadership of the Word of Life Bible Institute.

Roger is joyfully married to Cathy, who serves alongside him in multiple ways. Together they have four children. Nathan, now married to Melissa, Marcus, Lauren, and Addison. Roger enjoys sports and in particular cheering on his children at sporting events, and of course the biggest fan of the Word of Life Huskies.

Dear Parents and Guardians,   What a joy it is to walk around campus and interact with such a vibrant, spiritually minded group of young people! This past week has gone very smoothly, despite the snow! The Adirondacks are gearing up for winter, and it’s truly a breathtaking sight to behold– and with it comes even more ministry opportunities. We’re very grateful for God’s blessing upon this place. Read on to find out more about this past week at WOLBI.   Student Life We have seen over 185 students connected with staff members through our 1-on-1 discipleship program and our discipleship groups! We’ve also had a great turnout with our counseling center groups. These groups are focused on providing community and accountability concerning specific sin issues.   Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians, Below you will find our updated Thanksgiving and Christmas Break options. We hope you find these adjusted guidelines helpful as we seek to protect the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as well as provide reasonable options for students to enjoy school breaks with loved ones. Thank you for your continued patience in this endeavor. We will continue to keep you informed of any adjustments to the guidelines. California, Maine, New Hampshire, Oregon, and Washington are no longer considered “Non-Travel Advisory States,” thus students will not be able to travel back to campus after being in these states for Thanksgiving. Students whose original plans were to travel to any of these states for Thanksgiving Break and return to campus will need to submit a new Thanksgiving Intent Form with a change of plans.   Dear Parents and Guardians,  Autumn is progressing nicely here at Word of Life Bible Institute, and the students have settled comfortably into the rhythm of academics, ministry and campus activities. I hope you find the following updates helpful, and as always, please let me know if I can serve you in any way.    Academics Next week we are excited to welcome to our campus Dr. Stephen Bramer, Chairman and Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary. He will be teaching our Freshmen students a course on the book of Proverbs. Our Sophomore students will be taking a Biblical Ethics course with Professor Chris Eppling, the Vice President of Student Services at Truett McConnell University. On our Florida campus, our students will continue their studies in the book of Romans. Their professor will be one of our alumni, Phil Moser. Pastor Moser is the Teaching Pastor of Fellowship …

Important Information About Upcoming Breaks

  Dear Students and Parents,   I hope you have found the Thanksgiving Break information helpful and flexible enough to meet your family needs. As we look forward to the winter and spring season, we’d like to share our plans concerning break departures and returns. Please understand that there is discussion happening within the New York government on the current Travel Advisory Policy, and possible changes are coming. We are hoping that these changes create more flexibility for students. We will be sure to keep you updated on any policy changes from New York State.     Christmas Break Departure:  Christmas Break will begin on December 18th. Students have a test scheduled for December 17th at 7 pm, so please make travel arrangements for the day of December 18, 2020.     Student Check-Out Procedures  All students must fully pack up their belongings in boxes and suitcases with their name on each item …

Fall 2020: Quarantine Informational Guide

  Although quarantine isn’t what we would hope for any of our students, we believe we can protect the health of our students and staff members by preferring one another through this time. This guide was created to provide much of the information you will need as you go through the quarantine period at the Bible Institute. As faculty and staff, we are committed to serving our students with utmost excellence, as unto the Lord.   QUARANTINE Students will be placed in quarantine after consideration of the Health Center Staff and will also be excused from quarantine by the same staff. While in quarantine, students may not leave their dorm room/assigned cabin. To protect the health of others, there are no visitors permitted in or around quarantine rooms/cabins. New York Bible Institute Thanksgiving Break Information  Dear Students and Parents,   Throughout this academic year, we have stated that our desire at Word of Life Bible Institute is to be responsible and reasonable in our approach concerning the health and safety of all students. With this in mind, we are pleased to offer the following options to your student(s) for Thanksgiving Break. All students must choose one of the options and fill out the intent form. Please be sure to discuss the options with your student(s) and have them fill out the intent form by 10/26/2020.  Thanksgiving Break Dates: November 24 (beginning at 1 pm) – November 30 (return by in-dorms)  All the options take into consideration the New York State Travel Advisory Guidelines.
