September 25th Soft Campus Reopening Plan and Policy

Meals

  • Students are permitted to sit and dine with other classmates from their class (1st year with 1st year and 2nd year with 2nd year)
  • Masks must always be worn while not seated
  • No groups larger than 8 people

Huskies Health and Athletic Center- Fitness Center

  • Each student/staff member must be health screened prior to entering the fitness center (temp check, self-health screen form)
  • Everyone must sign in and out
  • Each person must always have an appropriate face (earloop style face covering, no bandanas/gaiters) covering and physical distance from others
  • 33% of maximum occupancy
  • Each piece of equipment must be cleaned after each use

Huskies Health and Athletic Center—Gymnasium

  • The basketball courts will remain closed until the Huskies Athletics Department opens the floor to student athletes

Huskies Den and Rec Center

  • Recreation Center and play gym will be open for student use
  • All health and safety protocols are to be adhered to
  • Sports equipment must be sanitized after each use (basketballs, pool sticks, ping pong paddles, arcade, etc…)
  • Students are required to wear masks during all recreational sports. Exceptions may be made when students have the ability to maintain 6-foot social distancing or are unable to physically tolerate the masks during physical activity

On-Campus and Campus Events 

  • All events/gatherings on campus that are not Word of Life sponsored must be limited to 25 people. Face coverings and social distancing policies remain in effect. This includes all gatherings, recreational sports, worship gatherings (masks must always be worn), Bible Studies, campfires, and similar events.
  • All events that are Word of Life sponsored must be operated by the Campus Life Team with strict adherence to our COVID-19 Health Plan

Visitors on Campus

  • Visitors are allowed on campus if they are traveling from a state that is not on the NY travel advisory list.
  • All visitors coming to campus must go to the Welcome Center and speak with Jenn Leckrone and sign in. The Welcome Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm. Outside of business hours, visitors must call Security at 518-494-6200 and be health screened before leaving the Wyrtzen Center parking lot.
  • We are not allowing overnight visitors to stay on campus during this time.

Off-Campus Policy

  • Travel
    • If you are riding in a vehicle that is not your roommate’s, masks must be worn the entire time.
    • If you travel to a state that is on the NYS Precautionary Travel Advisory, Word of Life Bible Insititute is not responsible for your quarantine protocols.
  • Group Gatherings
    • While NYS is allowing groups of up to 50 people, we are limiting all non Word of Life gatherings both on and off-campus to 25 people.
    • Facemasks and Social Distancing Guidelines are still in effect.
  • Remain Respectful of our Communities
    • All students should willingly go above and beyond expectations at all local establishments. Facemasks and social distancing must always be followed. Frequent handwashing should be implemented.
  • Back on Campus
    • On-Campus time will be 10 pm. Normal in-dorm hours will be implemented.
    • If a student is at a staff member’s home, they must be back on campus by 11 pm, and they must inform their RA. Travel is to be from the staff home directly to the campus, with no stops in between.
  • Local Churches
    • We are still requiring everyone to attend campus church at the Bible Institute.

This policy remains in effect until October 20th. All other COVID-19 Health and Safety Plans remain intact.
