I grew up in a Christian family and I came to know Christ as my Savior when I was six years old. Even though I was only six years old, I had already so tangibly seen God’s faithfulness in my life as He provided for my family. When my mom shared that Jesus died on the cross for my sin and rose again so that I could have a relationship with Him, I knew I could put my faith and trust in Him. Throughout the years, God put people in my path to encourage me in my spiritual growth and I had the blessing of serving with Camp Crew during high school. Those were the best summers of my life as I continued to grow in my relationship with God and had the opportunity to serve the Lord.
It was during the summer of my junior year that I decided I wanted to study the Bible at WOLBI. The two years I spent at Word of Life Bible Institute were so formative to my spiritual growth and gave me a passion for counseling. I went on to study at Clarks Summit University to finish my bachelor’s degree in counseling and came back to Word of Life to serve as a Discipleship Coordinator at the New York campus. I loved the opportunity to invest in the lives of the young women on campus!
After that, I served as the Dean of Women at the South Korea campus and I thank God for the unique opportunity to serve overseas doing discipleship. After serving in South Korea for two years, I came back to New York to serve as the International Admissions Counselor at WOLBI and continue my master’s degree in counseling. I love the ministry God has given me with the international students and it’s a joy to serve them!
The discipleship atmosphere is definitely the most unique aspect of the Word of Life Bible Institute. With an emphasis on spiritual growth and community, the students and staff are encouraged to grow closer to the Lord and each other.
The Lord allowed me to know Him from a young age. This gave a good foundation of knowing that even when we don’t think or feel that He is near, He is ALWAYS faithful, and my circumstances and current situations are working together to bring me closer to Him. My husband and I have 3 kids and we both serve with Word of Life in Florida. I have a deep calling to serve the International student community because I was one many years ago and feel that I have a special connection to them and can better relate to their needs.
Word of Life is a unique place where the students not only do life & academics together but ministry as well. This is the perfect soil for long-lasting deep friendships and accountability. As Staff we strive to make you feel at home, help you in your daily walk by discipleship and informal gatherings in our homes. We value true heart-change that lasts. Our school year ends after summer ministry, which is (in most cases) summer camp for kids or families on one of our own WOL properties. This allows our students to put into practice what they learned all year. Come join us!
