Greg Dyson

From: Springfield , MA

Bible Institute Completion: 1985

Trusted Christ: I accepted Christ through the ministry of CEF (Child evangelism Fellowship) at a Back Yard Club on Monday, August 13, 1973.

Coming to the Bible Institute: After hearing Jack Wrytzen on many occasions say "Give a year of your life to the Lord at the word of Life Bible Institute," I met many WOLBI students and they had a amazing passion and love for Jesus! It was my desire to go further for Christ, so I made the choice to come and deepen my foundation with the Lord. It was a wonderful foundational year for my Christian life...and I'm not just saying that because I met my wife here!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

Courtney McLean

From: Jacksonville, Florida

Bible Institute Completion: 2012

Trusted Christ: 1997

Coming to the Bible Institute: I came to the Word of Life Bible Institute after being a camper since the age of 12. I saw the love for Christ that the staff had and how they really loved God's Word. I didn't quite understand it at the time, but I knew that I wanted that same passion for Jesus Christ. Now, after having studied in both years of the BI and experiencing both American campuses, I can most definitely say it was the best decision for starting to build my life!

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Romans 8:13

Jay Sanders

From: Saint Petersburg, FL

Bible Institute Completion: 2010

Trusted Christ: I trusted Christ as my personal at the age of 6 on an Easter Sunday morning at a little old country church named Antioch Missionary Baptist church.

Coming to the Bible Institute: I still can't get over how God saved me, and the work he continues to do in my life today. In my down time I like to hit up Busch Gardens with a group of friends and ride the most thrilling rides in the park.My heart's desire and passion is to see teens live biblically principled lives and to see revival in America. I currently have the awesome opportunity to serve in the admissions office as a recruitment counselor at our Florida campus.

You who seek God, let your hearts revive.
Psalm 69:32b

Nichole Silva

From: Kingston, New York

Bible Institute Completion: 2011

Trusted Christ: 1997

Coming to the Bible Institute: I came to the Bible Institute thinking I already knew everything about the Bible. Once here, I realized that, yes, I was saved at a young age, but I was just mirroring what my father had taught me, and going through the motions. The Lord broke me and now I believe in Jesus Christ because of what He has taught me personally and my faith is my own!

He must become greater; I must become less.
John 3:30

Steve Bogran

From: Tatum, TX

Bible Institute Completion: 2008

Trusted Christ: Age 6

Coming to the Bible Institute: I grew up knowing about the ministry of Word of Life, but I never gave any thought about coming to the Bible Institute. It wasn't until the summer after my freshman year of college that I realized I had no purpose in my life. I attended the Bible Institute in New York in 2006 and through the Word the Lord showed me that my purpose and passion is to teach this generation how to live out God's Word and to reach others for Christ.

If only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24b

Bethany Alton

From: Jacksonville, FL

Bible Institute Completion: 2012

Trusted Christ: Age 6

Coming to the Bible Institute: At the age of 12 I rededicated my life to Christ at the Word of Life Florida Youth Camp. Because of that I fell in love with the idea of diving deeper into the Bible on a regular basis. I knew that God's Word was the only thing that could ignite a fire that will not be extinguished. By the age of 14 I knew that the Word of Life Bible Institute was the place for me simply because of their passion for the Word. When I arrived in 2011 I knew I was where I needed to be. We were in the Word every day, in fellowship with other believers, and I was in the "greenhouse" of my dreams.

This God—his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:30

Amber Roman

From: Saint Petersburg, FL

Bible Institute Completion: 2011

Trusted Christ: July, 2004

Coming to the Bible Institute: My mom took us to church every week when I was young and I heard about God and Jesus, but thought you only had to be a "good" person and go to church to be saved. When I went to the Word of Life Florida Youth Camp I saw that being a Christian wasn't just about being a "good person" it was about having a personal relationship with Christ. After working at the Word of Life Florida Youth Camp for four summers I decided to come to the Word of Life Bible Institute in 2009.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21

Kelsey Wallace

From: Frederick, Maryland

Bible Institute Completion: 2012

Trusted Christ: April 15, 1996

Coming to the Bible Institute: I came to Word of Life because I knew that I needed a solid, Biblical foundation in my life, even more so than just simply growing up in the church. Ever since I was in 6th grade, I believed the Lord was leading me to be a missionary and God has BLOWN MY MIND with studying His Word in such a deep and intimate way.

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

Stephen Boddie

From: Epsom, New Hampshire

Bible Institute Completion: 2011

Trusted Christ: November, 2009

Coming to the Bible Institute: After high school my parents gave me the ultimatum: leave the house, or go to Word of Life. So I ended up coming in the fall of 2009. At the time I was angry at the world, my parents, but mostly at myself for the way I had lived my life. God blessed me with awesome roommates and I ended up surrendering my life to the Lord two months later. After that I began growing in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and striving to seek after Him and please Him in every area of my life! I love working for Word of Life, and God is teaching me new things every single day!

For we have brought nothing into this world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
I Timothy 6:7

Keith Balsley

From: South Bend, IA

Bible Institute Completion: 1990

Trusted Christ: Summer 1973

Coming to the Bible Institute: I had the privilege to be raised in a home that loved the Lord Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I went to my first Christian camp at the age of 12 that I realized I needed a personal relationship with Christ. After the salvation message I asked Christ to come into my life. Fast forward to college where I met my wife and God called us to the Word of Life Bible Institute where I became the athletic director. I enjoyed 7 years of ministry at the bible institute in NY and then I transferred down to the Florida campus to be the ministries coordinator and now the Dean of Admissions.

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Jeremiah 33:3

Title: International Student Coordinator

Trusted Christ: I accepted Christ at the age of seven during Sunday School class. My teacher went through John 3:16 and explained my need of a Savior. What a blessing to be God’s child!

Role at the Bible Institute: The Lord has given me the oppurtunity to serve and help young people from other countries while they are studying with us. I take care of the admissions for the NY and FL campuses and then am “the mom” of the group here in NY in the Student Life Department. It’s so awesome to see the students lives change as they sit under the teaching of God’s Word. I love our international students here at WOLBI!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16

International Students

Word of Life Bible Institute welcomes international students and values diversity. Since Word of Life is a global ministry, students from all over the world attend different campuses, giving each campus a unique blend of culture and language. This helps all of our students to develop a more global mindset and appreciation for the rest of the world. We all serve the same God, and the experience of living and worshipping together as an international body of Christ is truly amazing.

In addition to the stated admissions requirements, all international students must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Students who do not have English as their first language must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). International students must also complete a Statement of Support indicating their ability to fund their education at the Bible Institute.

If you have any questions, please email wendywilliamson@wol.org. We would love to see you here with us!
